Will Richardson - NEASCD
I truly enjoyed hearing Will Richardson speak at today's Northeast ASCD Affiliate Conference in Boston, MA. His talk entitled "Learning in a Networked World: For Ourselves and Our Students" was inspirational. He pointed out that this is the most amazing time to be a learner. With 2 billion people on the web that means we have 2 billion potential teachers! (Unfortunately schools are working hard to filter out this potential connectivity.) With this many teachers out there and access to an infinite amount of knowledge on the web, are we, as educators, becoming irrelevant? Will argued that we aren't - we are experts on learning, but we need to remember that we too are life-long learners.
