Message to CCHS Community

Dear CCHS Parents and Students,

We are all profoundly saddened by the tragedy that took place yesterday in Connecticut. We want to assure you that we will provide support to any students who are feeling overwhelmed. This is a time when our strong community bonds are more important than ever.

Please let your children know that our counseling staff will be available on Monday (and beyond) to meet with anyone in need of support. All students need to do is stop by the Guidance Department; counselors will be there to assist them.

Take time to talk to your children about how this incident is impacting you both. For those of you looking for additional resources, the link below may provide some helpful guidance to families:

Though it is not clear that events like this are always preventable, I do want to assure you that the safety and well-being of your children is our utmost concern. Though some of our security measures are visible to the community, like the presence of our school resource officer, others are not. It is also important to note that the administration and staff have close relationships with police and community leaders.

I know that I speak for the entire school community when I say that our hearts go out to the families of Newtown.
